About the Job
This position will lead and provide direction for Quality and Food Safety (HACCP, SSOP’s, GMP’s, SOP’s) for a confidential client in . Quality Assurance / Food Safety Manager will provide resources / support for risk analysis, problem solving, product improvement, product specifications and reducing risk in areas of food safety, sanitation and microbiology. This needs to be a pro-active relationship with regulatory agencies (USDA FSIS).
Job Responsibilities
1. Overseeing and signing off on all HACCP documentation, preshipment review.
2. Overseeing set up and performing testing of plant and USDA monthly sampling for Listeria,
Salmonella and preoperational monitoring program for ATP and APC bacterial plate counts. Manage
Listeria Control Program.
3. Overseeing samples to outside lab, results, corrective action.
4. Control of non-conforming product - Suspect Labs, Processing Issues
5. Ordering of all lab, sanitation, gmp, operational supplies.
6. Writing and maintaining GMPs, SOP, SSOP, HACCP - Performing annual review of systems,
responsible for annual verification review of all programs.
7. Writing new procedures. Maintain document control of all program
documents.

9. Lead investigation of customer complaints
10. Tracing and record keeping of all foreign objects and materials found in product during
production and returned by customer.
11. Overseeing sanitation performance and results.
12. Record keeping of MSDS and letters of Guarantee
13. Write and update product specifications
14. Overseeing staff, observe QC Technician's and conduct training.
15. Conduct training of all new employees in SOP's, GMP's, and SSOP's.
16. Observe personnel working in plant and enforce quality and safety systems.
17. Perform R&D testing of new product trials
20. Monthly Audit - Walk through all areas of plants, freezer, coolers and dry storage and
inspect for damage, trash buildup. Inspect pest control stations and contact the pest control
company to correct any problems. Perform outside inspections for cleanliness and neatness.
21. Overseeing Pest Control Company
22. Manage and review pre-operational inspection of plant each morning before start up.
23. Liaison between plant and USDA.
24. Complete other assignments as directed by General Manager, Japan officers.
Minimum of ten plus years experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety with some management experience preferred
Strong knowledge and experience in food safety (HACCP, SSOP’s, GMP’s, SOP’s, SQF), microbiology
Working understanding of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), USDA FSIS regulations and State regulations
HACCP Certified
SQF Certified would be helpful as we work to implement SQF.
