QUALITY SUPERVISOR - 2ND SHIFT
SUMMARY
My client is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join their growing team in Henry County, GA. This position is responsible for managing a staff of Senior Bench Technicians and Bench Technicians, as well as for the plant's Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance program to ensure compliance with company and government procedures. Inspect and audit the operation in all phases of quality performance (raw materials, production, packaging and distribution).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Guide the plant’s SQF certification program
• Comply to Food Safety: maintain SQF certification through compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintaining good housekeeping by being inspection-ready at all times
• Carry out QC policies, procedures, and directives in the development of and compliance while providing feedback and necessary follow up to ensure proper corrective action
• Ensure that all QC Technicians and plant personnel are properly trained with regard to quality programs, procedures, safety, and housekeeping
• Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning
• Ensure the free flow of information between departments by identifying and troubleshooting problems in the production process
• Prepare necessary reports and provide regular feedback to keep management fully informed
• Perform various duties under the specific direction of the Quality Assurance Department Manager
• Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises six employees in the Quality Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (specializing in Food Science); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
