Job Description
The Mobile Solutions (MSB) team at Skyworks develops industry-leading, highly integrated solutions for next generation mobile platforms supporting the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers. Our design engineers have diverse expertise and utilize a broad range of technologies (SOI, silicon CMOS, GaAs, IPD, TC-SAW and pHEMT) to create differentiated transmit and receive products including high performance LNAs, couplers, power amplifiers, antenna switch modules, digital/analog controllers, passive matching and acoustic filtering for leading edge 3GPP standards. Skyworks’ MSB team is an ideal place for motivated engineers who enjoy collaboration in a fast-paced environment and designing industry breakthrough solutions for mobile and 5G applications.
As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of Si/SOI RFIC Integrated Circuits for mobile handset applications. You will be part of a talented analog/RFIC design team and be assigned to multi-chip module projects with typically 5 and more design engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Design and tape out RF switch ICs or LNA ICs for high-end smart phones using Cadence and other tools
• Circuit architecture, planning, design, simulation, verification, and production ramp support of highly integrated, high-volume ICs for high-growth, fast-paced, and competitive wireless handset market
• Work closely with module and multi-discipline teams to create the detailed specification, report design progress, and to collect, track, and resolve any performance and circuit design issues
Required Experience and Skills:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of related work experience (or MS + 6, PhD + 3).
• Experience using Cadence analog IC design tools and hands-on experience with lab measurements and characterization equipment.
• Experience in RFIC design at the chip level and possess a good understanding of basic analog circuits and RF devices.
• Experience in simulation tools, IC test characterization techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of device matching, layout techniques, ESD and latch up.
• Knowledge of device physics, the ability to develop and use advanced linear and nonlinear models or simulation techniques, and be able to translate between model, simulation, physical implementation, and measured performance of a device.
• Must have good understanding of RF and microwave engineering.
• Good communication skills, be able to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress, execute to a schedule, and good teamwork.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
