About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Cath Lab RN - Cardiac Cath Lab **Job Duration:** 13-week assignment **Shift:** Monday - Friday, 8-hour days with occasional call **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in the Cath Lab **License:** Valid RN license **Certifications:** ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) **Must-Have:** Experience with IABP, IVUS; familiarity with Acist injector preferred **Job Description:** - Work in a dynamic Cardiac Cath Lab environment, focusing primarily on adult cardiac cases, including peripheral, cardiac cath, PCI, and device procedures. - Participate in a three-person team consisting of two RNs and one tech for cath lab operations. - Manage and support a workload that varies between an average of 4-5 cases per day, with some days as few as 2 cases and others up to 9. - Utilize "Cupid" EMR system through Epic Systems Corporation for charting and documentation. - Function as a team lead, including charge/resource nurse responsibilities and case assistance as needed. - Possible floating to Non-Invasive CV areas to assist with tasks such as starting IVs. - Engage in orientation with two shifts alongside a preceptor and participate in a "buddy call" for hands-on learning in the Cath Lab. - Availability to cover weekend and holiday calls, and have a call response time requirement from Monday to Friday from 15:30 - 07:00. The number of call days averages 15 per month but is expected to decrease as additional permanent staff are hired. - Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, including interaction with the 24/7 cardiology on-call service. - Wear provided scrubs during shifts (Navy Blue for RNs). - Participate in a comprehensive orientation, including instruction on lab protocols and procedures involving certain medications. - The role supports the startup of a Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) service, thus requiring Neuro IR/IR experience. **Additional Information:** - The cath lab features 7 suites, holding rooms, and 2 cath labs equipped with advanced technology. - Cardiologist support is available 24/7 with pharmacy assistance as required. - The RN role may involve covering floating shifts in Non-Invasive CV areas, particularly for starting IVs.
