St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital are proud members of Catholic Health and have served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. The Charge Nurse is responsible for patient care within a specific area in the nursing facility. This includes working with the Unit Manager in coordinating the services of all contributing disciplines and administering the nursing component of the care within the espoused nursing philosophy. The incumbent is guided by a comprehensive knowledge of current nursing theory and practice; knowledge of organization and departmental functions; policies, regulations, and procedures of the Nursing facility; knowledge and application of principles of leadership. 

Qualifications: 

• RN Associates Degree required,
• Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience long term/sub acute care preferred.  

Special Requirements: 

• General office equipment, personal computer, Nursing Home computer system.
• Experience in team based environment desirable. Previous leadership experience preferred. 
• Excellent communication and organizational skills essential.
