Clinical Documentation Specialist:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will be an RN with 3 or more years inpatient hospital nursing experience and recent experience with CMS rules and regulations, extensive knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, and MS-DRG. The Clinical Documentation Specialist will work closely with hospital staff and providers to improve quality by initiating and performing chart review of selected inpatient records and ensuring accurate clinical documentation and coding for reimbursement.

Clinical Documentation Specialist:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will be an RN with 3 or more years inpatient hospital nursing experience and recent experience with CMS rules and regulations, extensive knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, and MS-DRG. The Clinical Documentation Specialist will work closely with hospital staff and providers to improve quality by initiating and performing chart review of selected inpatient records and ensuring accurate clinical documentation and coding for reimbursement.
Qualifications:
- ADN Degree Required, BSN Degree preferred
- Must have 3 or more years RN experience in a hospital setting
- At least 1 year experience with inpatient chart review, clinical documentation, CMS regulations, state and federal rules and regulations, etc.
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - OR - Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) required
- Coding Certification (CCS, CIC, CPC) preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and MS-DRG, CPT-4, E&M, APC
- Active TX RN license or ability to gain state licensure
