About The Position
**Job Title:** Telemetry Nurse **Job Specialty:** Telemetry Med/Surg, Telemetry Cardiac, Emergency Room **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night Shift, 36 Hours, 7pm-7am, Weekends **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum of 3-5 years in Emergency Department preferred **License:** Current Registered Nurse license **Certifications:** - AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred **Must-Have:** Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills **Job Description:** - Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient goals - Provide patient care based on established standards and protocols - Respect each patient as an individual and provide dignified care - Offer patient and family teaching based on learning needs and readiness - Collaborate in patient discharge planning incorporating support resources - Delegate and supervise nursing interventions appropriately - Prioritize patient care, seeking assistance as necessary - Document all pertinent data, interventions, and responses accurately and timely - Provide thorough patient reports to ensure continuity of care - Promote learning and professional development - Proactively identify patient safety risks and opportunities for reducing errors - Address ethical issues in patient care - Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy - Assess and document patient pain levels and effectiveness of control - Conduct initial patient assessments and implement triage protocols - Identify and manage patients at risk for potential abuse - Complete required mandated reporting and documentation of forensic evidence - Maintain knowledge of disaster policy and procedures - Identify and safely manage patients at risk for violent behavior - Recognize and interpret laboratory and diagnostic results - Safely administer and monitor vasoactive medications and critical drips - Accurately identify cardiac arrhythmias - Conduct and document thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy - Manage care for intubated patients, including troubleshooting and weaning - Interpret blood gases and monitors for impaired gas exchange - Complete medication reconciliation documentation - Implement components of the VAP bundle and alert for deviations **Physical Requirements:** - Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, less force frequently - Frequent reaching, handling, and feeling - Occasional stooping, kneeling, and color distinction **Behavioral Attributes:** Achievement motivation, orderliness, flexibility, initiative, self-confidence, customer service, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork, analytical thinking, and information seeking. **Education Requirements:** Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
