About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour nights, 2 weekends per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required to submit **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Cerner experience preferred **Job Description:** - Work in an emergency room with 33 total patient care rooms, including 25 rooms with cardiac monitors. - Assist with triage in a designated area with 2 triage bays, working alongside mid-level practitioners and RNs or LVNs. - Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 4, handling an average of 210 patients. - Utilize Cerner EMR, with an option to test out of Cerner training if experienced. - Collaborate with a charge nurse who is available 24/7. - Perform tech duties and EKGs with the assistance of ER techs who have EMT, MA, or CNA experience. - Follow weekend work requirements every other weekend and holiday work for 2 out of 3 major holidays. - Dress in navy blue scrubs; optional scrub jackets must also be navy. Undershirts can be navy, white, or black. - Operate with GE telemetry with central monitor stations at both nurse stations. - Work alongside up to 5 physicians and 3 mid-level practitioners in-house, with RT and pharmacy available 24/7. - Participate in floor-specific orientation with up to 6 shifts alongside a preceptor. - Treat routine ER patients and manage ER holds, transferring STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases as necessary. - Engage in strong, thorough documentation, complying with EMTALA regulations to stabilize and treat all ED patients. - Adapt to possible shift cancellations up to 3 times per contract, which could affect full or partial shifts.
