About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Every Other Weekend, First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required to submit application **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine, NIHSS, PALS **Must-Have:** - 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting - Travel experience is preferred **Job Description:** - Work in a 32-bed ER with 6 treatment chairs and a 4-bed fast track - Provide care in rooms set up specifically for a large population of psychiatric patients - Manage a workload of approximately 208 patients per day, with peaks up to 317 - Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, and 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU-status patients - Utilize Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system - Collaborate with a charge nurse and assistant nurse manager, who do not take patient assignments - Work alongside ER techs, CNAs, and EMTs - Potential to float to another facility’s ER as needed - Participate in a rotating weekend schedule and holiday shifts - Comprehend and interpret telemetry/monitor strips via Phillips system - Support provided by a 24/7 respiratory therapist and pharmacy - Engage in floor-specific orientation for 3 shifts - Handle common diagnoses, including trauma, pediatric cases, stroke, and STEMIs **Additional Notes:** - Nurses are not responsible for drawing labs - Navy scrubs are required - Candidates may experience up to three shift cancellations per contract.
