About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Gastroenterology (GI) Lab **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Day, 4x10-Hour (08:00 - 18:00) **Guaranteed Hours:** TBD **Experience:** 2+ years required; Traveler experience: 6 months **License:** CA RN License **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** Strong background in complex gastroenterology studies, such as ERCP cases. Epic charting experience preferred. **Job Description:** - Apply the principles of the nursing process and work within the policies and procedures of the Patient Care Services Department. - As the patient's primary nurse, manage the nursing care provided, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective care from admission to discharge. - Ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients, and perform disease prevention and restorative measures. - Respond to medical and environmental emergencies with proficiency. - Plan and coordinate delivery of care to maximize efficiency, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a safe environment. - Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care. - Administer treatments, medications, and perform nursing skills in a timely manner. - Maintain current knowledge of patient care status and monitor patients' perceptions of care through clinical rounds. - Assure physicians are informed of significant changes in patient's condition. - Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family, considering biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning factors. - Develop and implement a patient's plan of care based on interviews, observations, chart reviews, and consultations with other health team members. - Document and communicate patient assessments, plans of care, outcomes, and other pertinent information with other health team members. - Modify care plans as appropriate in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplines. - Set priorities, initiate and direct emergency interventions efficiently and competently.
