About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN), Float Pool Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend, and one additional shift per month Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; 2 years of critical care or telemetry experience with ICU experience in a hospital setting License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: High reliability, critical care experience, EPIC experience highly preferred Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate. - Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. - Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate effective allocation of material resources. - Role model Relationship-Centered Care through actions including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding. - Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. - Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care. - Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening. - Participate in quality and safety practices and compliance measures. - Engage in process improvement strategies based on evidence-based procedures. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement projects and nursing research studies. - Use institutional information technology to document nursing practice and support quality and performance improvement initiatives. - Perform charge nurse duties and coordinate with nursing management to ensure proper staffing and inventory for patient care. - Facilitate patient throughput and document accurately in compliance with hospital standards. - Support clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members in a caring environment. - Advance clinical competence from novice to expert and project a professional image with respectful communication. - Encourage a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation for self and others. - Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and nursing department committees.
