About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:30 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years in Cardiac and/or Medical ICU **License:** Current RN License (eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri) **Certifications:** - Required: BLS and ACLS from AHA only, NIHSS - Preferred: TNCC **Must-Have:** 3 years of inpatient Cardiac Medical ICU experience **Job Description:** - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in accordance with established guidelines and standards. - Maintain professional accountability and confidentiality for the provision of patient care. - Coordinate patient care in conjunction with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes. - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities to enhance patient comfort. - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and the state's Nurse Practice Act. - Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. - Perform duties in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. - Meet unit-specific physical demands, including a significant amount of bending, stooping, and lifting. - Ensure preparedness to float to other stepdown units as necessary. - Wear professional attire consistent with dress code requirements, excluding hats and non-approved outerwear. - Exhibit excellence in performance and uphold accountability standards within the team. - Maintain readiness to work differing schedules or shifts according to patient care requirements. - Ensure high-risk safety measures are upheld in exposure-prone situations. *Note: The job may require significant physical activity and exposure to blood and body fluids.
