RN Manager - Service Unit Department
Location: Sacramento, CA
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner medical center in Sacramento, CA, as a Nurse Manager for their Service Unit Department. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong clinical background, exceptional management skills, and a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Operations: Manage the daily operations of a large unit or multiple units within the Service Unit Department, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Patient Care Excellence: Champion a patient-centered approach, fostering a culture of compassion, safety, and continuous quality improvement.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a highly skilled and motivated team of nurses and support staff. Provide ongoing training, performance evaluations, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Clinical Expertise: Maintain a strong clinical knowledge base and stay abreast of the latest advancements in nursing practices and technologies. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills to provide top-notch care.
- Resource Management: Effectively manage the department's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation. Optimize staffing levels to meet patient demand and ensure efficient operations.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with physicians, other departments, and stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care and organizational success. Act as a liaison between the unit and other areas of the hospital.
- Performance Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction. Monitor key performance indicators and implement evidence-based practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles.
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an outpatient care setting preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Active RN license in the State of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be required for positions in specific departments.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Clinical specialization in the area of practice is preferred.
