About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Pediatrics **Job Specialty:** Inpatient Pediatrics **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 7 PM - 7 AM (12-hour night shifts) **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing required; Pediatric Behavioral Health experience preferred **License:** ME State License **Certifications:** BLS, Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) obtained as part of orientation **Must-Have:** De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints, ability to run groups, medication administration, documentation skills **Job Description:** - Care for children and adolescents aged 5-18 receiving inpatient Mental Health services - Manage patients with common diagnoses including Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Gender Dysphoria - Provide traditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy, and community gardening - Work in private room settings, ensuring individualized patient care - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager, House Administrator, Charge Nurse, Psych Techs, contracted Phlebotomist, Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapist, and Security - Utilize Cerner charting system and Pyxis medication management system - Float as needed between all pediatric units - Patient ratios: Day 1:5-6; Night 1:13 with resource support including Nursing support and Psych Techs
