About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical/Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 11.5 hours, Night shift (19:00-07:00); 12-hour PM-AM rotation Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of recent, relevant experience required License: Compact RN Licensure required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Kind, clear communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a high-functioning team Job Description: - Provide compassionate care to patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses in a specialized, free-standing inpatient unit. - Support patients by easing symptom burdens and delivering skilled care. - Collaborate with team members to meet the needs of the community. - Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4 to 1 or less, with nursing assistants available on some shifts. - Administer progressive care treatments, such as palliative sedation, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy. - Responsible for vascular access and phlebotomy. - Demonstrate teamwork and a willingness to help patients live meaningful lives as they approach the end of life. - Be part of a large, well-resourced palliative care team.
