About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Med-Surg Adult **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Acute care experience preferred **License:** Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement **Certifications:** Current BCLS; ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate (NRP) within 6 months for experienced nurses and within one year for newly licensed RNs; S.T.A.B.L.E certification within 2 years **Must-Have:** Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, effective communication skills, ability to work within a team, critical thinking skills, customer service skills, excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills **Job Description:** - Perform the functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under supervision. - Adhere to all Standards of Nursing Practice and hospital policies, including those regarding confidentiality and safety. - Provide age-appropriate care for patients across various stages such as postpartum, nursery, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. - Manage supplies and equipment efficiently, promote teamwork with physicians and personnel, and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. - Perform duties of Charge Nurse as needed and act as a resource RN for labor and delivery needs. - Serve as a positive role model and promote good communication and professional relationships among the health care team. - Coordinate nursing care to achieve desired patient outcomes using effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation methods. - Provide patient and family education based on assessed learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching. - Document all care performed and patient response thoroughly according to hospital policies. - Participate in discharge planning and adhere to infection control policies. - Remain current in nursing practice by attending in-services, seminars, and workshops. - Engage in hospital committees, orientation of new employees, and contribute to performance evaluations as requested. - Ensure adherence to dress codes, employee health policies, and attendance at unit staff meetings. - Support and adhere to administration and nursing service policies and procedures. - Use patient handling equipment appropriately and comply with the Code of Conduct. - Reliable attendance and punctuality, including adjusting shifts to meet patient demands. - Support hospital disaster, fire, bomb threat, and evacuation plans. - Promote positive community relations and participate in the Organ/Tissue Donation Program. - Execute any other duties relevant to the position and department as assigned.
