Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg will provide comprehensive care to patients in a medical-surgical unit, managing a diverse patient caseload with a focus on delivering high-quality care. This role requires clinical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a medical-surgical setting.
  • Monitor and manage patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary treatments.
  • Provide patient education and support to ensure understanding of care plans and health management.
• Clinical Duties:
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Perform routine and emergency procedures as required, adhering to best practices and safety protocols.
  • Document patient care activities, assessments, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
• Coordination & Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide clear and accurate information regarding patient care.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
• Quality & Compliance:
  • Adhere to all regulatory and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Professional Development:
  • Stay current with medical and nursing best practices through continuous education and professional development.
  • Pursue long-term career goals within the field of nursing and the healthcare industry.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelors degree preferred.
• Licensure & Certification:
  • Current RN license for the State of Kentucky.
• Experience:
  • Previous experience in a medical-surgical setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and long-term career aspirations in nursing.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
