We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: Provide care for critically ill newborns, infants and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge. Provide care for infants requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities. Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile: resume, Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Experience: Level 4 NICU experience required, or level III that included some surgical and trach vent management Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation Traveler must have completed two years in an acute care setting in addition to at least one year in a level IV NICU or level III NICU meeting above requirements Traveler must have successfully completed 13 week travel assignment. Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY PALS - must be certified through American Heart Associate ONLY NRP required Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. References: Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only). Telemetry Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 2-3 weeks prior to start date. Floating: Travelers are the first to float. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Location: American Family Children's' Hospital 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation. Additional Information: UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
