Overview:
As an OR RN, you will play a vital role in providing patient care within the operating room setting. Your expertise in surgical procedures, patient safety, and collaboration with the surgical team will be instrumental in ensuring positive surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Preoperative Preparation:
- Assessing patients' preoperative health status and preparing them for surgery.
- Collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to plan and prepare for procedures.
- Intraoperative Support:
- Assisting the surgical team during operations, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Managing surgical instruments, equipment, and ensuring their availability.
- Postoperative Care:
- Monitoring patients' recovery post-surgery, assessing vital signs, and managing post-anesthesia effects.
- Providing patient education regarding postoperative care and medications.
- Patient Advocacy and Support:
- Advocating for patient needs and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintaining accurate patient records, including preoperative and postoperative assessments.
- Adhering to regulatory standards and protocols for patient care and safety.
Requirements:
- Active Florida State or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- X years of experience in perioperative nursing or operating room settings.
- Proficiency in surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and operating room protocols.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- MUST have scrubbing experience, not just Circulating.
