About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Medical Surgical Registered Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour Day Shift **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week **Experience:** 2 years required; First-time travelers welcome **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Certifications:** - Required: BLS - Preferred: ACLS **Must-Have:** - Strong circulate skills - Ability to circulate general, orthopedic, and OBGYN cases - Scrub experience (preferred) **Job Description:** - Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care. - Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to ensure the safest patient environment and experience. - Manage and monitor patient care, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio. - Average 25-30 cases per day in a 12-bed surgical unit. - Handle patient types including general, urology, orthopedics (total joints, ORIF), spine (complex), OBGYN, and limited vascular procedures. Robotics experience preferred. - Support includes a scheduler, charge nurse, manager/director, unit educator, and in-house anesthesia. - Use EPIC charting system, Pyxis, and Alaris equipment, with bedside telemetry monitoring for anesthesia. - Participate in a 2-day orientation with an educator and preceptor. - Expected to float to inpatient units as needed in a support capacity. **Scheduling and On-Call:** - Weekend rotation: On-call shifts included - M-F schedule with on-call requirements - Response time for on-call duties: 30 minutes - Holiday expectations: One on-call shift **Unit Culture:** - Travel-friendly with strong support - Positive environment with great teamwork **Additional Notes:** - Scrub color provided
