About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Oncology **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Oncology experience preferred but not required **License:** Valid compact or state license required **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Certification **Must-Have:** - Minimum experience preferred but not mandatory - Computerized charting experience with EPIC **Job Description:** - Staffing ratios expected are 1:4, but can be 1:5 - Weekend shifts will be variable based on unit needs - No set/blocked scheduling; self-schedule requests considered for scheduling - First week of orientation will be Monday to Friday daytime - Second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor - Floating to other Medical/Surgical and Oncology Units as needed - Common patient diagnoses include Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute/chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, and other non-hematologic cancers - Handle special procedures such as Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Insulin drips, and Heparin drips - Focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention - Skills required include MS/Tele, Telemetry Interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry unit monitoring, utilization of Rapid Response Teams, feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs - Candidates must complete necessary fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract - Consideration for candidates requiring travel within driving distance for fingerprinting; expedited processing for those further away Please ensure readiness for credentialing compliance, and be proactive with the licensing process required for the role.
