About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Intermediate Care (IMC) - Medical Cardiac **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) **Guaranteed Hours:** Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without compensation for the canceled hours. **Experience:** Minimum 2 years required. First-time travelers are accepted. **License:** Active Illinois license required. **Certifications:** ACLS and BLS required. **Must-Have:** - Experience in telemetry, cardiac tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings. - Required skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, various cardiac case handling, respiratory case handling, and IV/medication administration. - Competency in Cerner charting required. **Job Description:** - Work every other weekend. - No on-call requirement. - Clinician will float within the scope to meet facility needs, including like units as needed. - Open to accommodating block schedules; discuss schedule requests with manager. - Willingness to work two out of three major holidays is necessary. - Experience in a teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center preferred. - Previous charge experience and familiarity with Cerner essential. - Must provide care for post-cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac surgery, and handle various other cardiac and respiratory cases. - Must be able to manage feeding tubes, pre/post hemodialysis, and renal failure cases. - Proficient in IV therapy/phlebotomy, including accessing ports, arterial line management, and central line care. - Responsible for wound care/wound vac and maintaining isolation precautions. This position requires a dedicated nurse willing to work collaboratively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
