POSITION SUMMARY
The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, professional with a positive, go-getter attitude to work as the Assistant Manager at our RV Park. Under the general direction of the RV Park Manager, this person is responsible for the overall guest experience and RV Park operations, including, but not limited to managing reservations, enforcing policies and procedures, resolving complaints, and filling propane tanks while using professional communication and service skills in all interactions with customers and staff. This person will also act as the primary liaison between the RV Park and Facility Services at WSFP – submitting work orders as necessary to document needed repairs and verify completion to ensure smooth operations of the RV Park. This role will manage RV Park operations and staff in the absence of the RV Park Manager.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting wage for this role will be $21.00 per hour. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078. Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is not included as part of the benefits package.

Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Take reservations and payment over the phone and in person, explaining all options available for booking
- Strategically manage site assignments within the reservation system to maximize availability for reservations
- Accurately create and manage all extended stay reservations, following specific processes and procedures for payment schedules, agreements, and other forms necessary for extended stays
- Take initiative to resolve or find an acceptable resolution when a situation arises with an upset customer in order to provide quality customer service while adhering to WSFP RV Park policies, procedures, and rules
- Enforce policies and procedures and update written SOP’s as policies and procedures change
- Balance daily sales (charge slips and cash register) accurately against daily revenue report. Identify and correct financial errors prior to closing out financial outlets such as cash drawers and credit card terminals
- Post charges for sites, amenities, etc. to accounts and receive payment via check, charge or cash, dispensing accurate change. Manually adjust fees within the reservation system to reflect accurate charges appropriate for the transaction based on applicable rates and policies when necessary
- Oversee and assist in all operations while delegating tasks and ensuring accurate completion of tasks
- Maintain customer databases, forms, clerical and financial reporting spreadsheets, ensuring they are accurate and up to date
- Assist with the training and onboarding of new and seasonal employees
- Take initiative to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of RV Park office, facilities, and grounds by performing daily lot checks and general inspections. Submitting work orders to appropriate parties based on the repair or assistance needed. Track and document progress on all work orders
- Fill propane tanks according to federal and state guidelines
- Act as Manager on duty when necessary and assist RV Park Manager with other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of RV Park, hospitality, or related operational experience, required
- Previous formal supervision experience, required
- Expert problem solving and analytical skills with ability to effectively resolve complaints and handle grievances
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete assigned tasks as well as identify and complete unassigned tasks to improve the RV Park and day to day operations
- Extensive math skills to include cash management and the ability to create and balance financial reports
- Excellent customer service and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience using reservation software and basic knowledge of RVs or camping, preferred
- Ability to learn the reservation system and all functions including but not limited to creating reservations, opening support cases, and pulling reports
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to troubleshoot, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Teams, and Excel
- Ability to work an average of 5-6 shifts each week, including both weekend and weekday shifts as scheduled
- Must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a valid Driver License
