Radiation Therapist at SELECTSKINMD LLC

Job Summary
As a Radiation Therapist at our privately owned Dermatology office, you will be responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with the prescription defined by the Dermatologist.  We are currently seeking a candidate for Part-Time or Per Diem schedule of 2-3 days a week in our Vero Beach, Florida office.

Responsibilities
- Verifies and administers prescribed doses of SRT radiation to the specific sites.

- Position patients for treatment using immobilization devices and equipment.

- Monitor patients during treatment to ensure their safety and comfort.

- Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and patient progress. Enter data into the computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage in accordance with the prescription.

- Conduct most treatment sessions independently and under the general direction of the patients physician.

- Assist the Dermatologist in localization and simulation and documentation of the lesion being treated and plan and adjust treatment protocols.

- Prepare and construct custom protection devices for patient treatment.

- Educate, prepare and reassure patients about the treatment process and reinforcing physician advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care.

- Performs daily warm-up and QA of the SRT machine prior to the start of treatments each day as prescribed by manufacturer.

- Follow principles of radiation protection for the patient, self and others.

- Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Current Active License in the State of Florida

- Graduate of an Accredited Program for Radiation Therapy

- Experience in critical care, acute care, mammography, CT scans, and medical imaging.

- Strong attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
