In this paid internship you will receive hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology in the nuclear industry and the opportunity to affect future space fission system designs by working on advanced machine learning tools to improve microreactor design concepts, involving data analysis, model development, and simulation tasks. Reporting to the Reactor Physics Methods and Analysis group. This team works a 9x80 schedule, and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start dates and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Masters Degree Program/Doctorate Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering, or related
Experience or course work in Reactor physics and design, Neutronics, multiphysics, numerical analysis, sensitivity analysis
A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:
Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
