About the Job
A receiving material handler checks and unloads incoming shipments. He or she verifies that the correct types and amounts of items were shipped and inspects the goods to ensure their quality and then prepares the product for put-away. Additionally, the receiving material handler will assist in replenishments to active pick area from bulk.

- Unload trucks and sign bills in a timely manner
- Unloading containers requires constant lifting and moving product up to 35 lbs overhead for 2-hour periods.
- Process all incoming merchandise in an accurate and timely manner.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment to ensure a safe work environment
- Report any forklift issues to ensure they are properly fixed by a trained technician.
- Communicate any issues and report any accidents to the manager immediately.
- Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Move product from bulk area to active pick as needed
- Perform cycle counts as needed
- Assist in bi-yearly physical inventory
- Perform other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the Operations Manager
Qualifications
- 2 years experience with inventory, distribution, and operational processes and procedures.
- Basic skillset in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word) a plus
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.
- Position has physical requirements, and must be able to lift 35lb boxes on a routine basis. Must be able to routinely stand up between 75%-100% per working day.
The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities.
- The ability to sit up 50% of applicable work time.
- The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
- The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds up to 50% of applicable work time.
- Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.
