Referral Coordinator - St. Luke's Hospital

• JOB SUMMARY
  • The Referral Coordinator position is critical to ensure comprehensive patient care by assuring a timely, efficient referral process for continued patient care. Ongoing responsibility for assessing the current process, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Successful completion of a post-high school vocational or technical program in general business or medical office practices
  • Experience: Three (3) years experience in a clinic or acute care setting.

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: One (1) year Diploma/Certificate from a post-secondary school
  • Experience: Completion of a medical terminology course
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures and applies policies and principles to the solution of everyday problems as well as dealing with a variety of situations, including occasional crises.
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information/data, along with identifying and diagnosing problems and formulating a reasonable and effective solution.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Excellent listening skills, eye, hand and auditory coordination.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, under pressure, with time restraints.
