Regional Director, Food Safety, QA, Sanitation at Alpha Baking

Overview: As the Regional Director of Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and sanitation across our operations. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in food safety and quality management within the bakery industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Implement Food Safety Programs:
• Design, implement, and manage robust food safety programs in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of HACCP plans to identify and control potential food safety hazards.
2. Quality Assurance Management:
• Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure consistent product quality.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards and specifications.
3. Sanitation and Hygiene Oversight:
• Lead sanitation initiatives to maintain a clean and hygienic production environment.
• Implement sanitation procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and ensure company-wide compliance.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections to address any compliance issues.
5. Supplier and Vendor Management:
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials.
• Evaluate and qualify new suppliers based on established criteria.
6. Training and Development:
• Develop and deliver training programs for employees on food safety, quality, and sanitation practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and awareness regarding food safety and quality.
7. Incident Response and Crisis Management:
• Develop and implement protocols for handling food safety incidents or product recalls.
• Lead crisis management efforts related to food safety emergencies.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other departments, including production, research and development, and logistics, to ensure alignment in quality and safety objectives.
• Act as a liaison between the corporate office and individual bakery locations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within food safety and quality assurance, preferably in the bakery industry.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in food safety (e.g., Certified Food Safety Professional) is desirable.
