About the Job
The Regional EHS Manager has multi-site responsibility for EHS compliance in Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental areas at multiple Reading Truck locations in the U.S. This EHS Regional Manager will lead internal EHS audit preparation, create programs, policies and implement changes within EHS, and will work closely with facility management, operations directors and corporate EHS.
South Central Region - Covers our locations in Houston and Arlington, Texas.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Lead EHS culture change within RTE sites and facilities
- Provide EHS technical support for projects within the various locations; serves as the site EHS technical expert
- Conduct inspections and assessments to evaluate the site's compliance with OSHA standards; prioritizes programs to address identified gaps; maintain company safety metrics and OSHA 300 logs
- Serve as a liaison and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies (including inspections) and insuring the best possible outcome
- Assist and develop required training programs (if gaps are identified) and maintain employee safety training records and coordinates retraining to ensure compliance
- Develop and implement site emergency response plans and serve as the emergency coordinator for events
- Lead site level root cause incident investigations; assist in developing and implementing corrective actions to resolve EHS issues and track action items to closure
- Submit monthly/quarterly/annual corporate reports per requirements
- Perform Job Safety Assessments (JSA), PPE Assessments, and assist team members with incident investigations
- Ensure accurate and timely EHS record keeping, document management and effective case management
Required Credentials
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field
- ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM or progress to completing certs is preferred
- Experience with paint booths and surface coatings highly desired
- Must have previous multi-site responsibility in heavy or light manufacturing in all disciplines of EHS
- Experience in the transportation or truck industry a plus
- Must be able to travel frequently - primarily south central US sites; but other US travel may be required
