The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) leverages and utilizes all available resources in order to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual accelerated sales goals in the assigned geographic territory while managing a territory travel and entertainment budget. Accounts and territories will vary by level.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
- Develops and executes an annual accelerated business growth plan that includes new customer conversions, assigned existing customer expansion of programs, pricing management, organic growth in accounts as well as competitive conversions.
- Monitors appropriate market segments and competitive offerings and adjust tactics and go to market strategy accordingly to accelerate sales growth.
- Partners with Sales Management team to identify strategic opportunities, actively participating in annual goal setting and planning. Supports the Manager and Inside Sales on team development needs, staffing and territory coverage planning.
- Work closely with Key Account Managers and Account Managers, Marketing team, R&D team and Distributor Partners to overcome customer obstacles in order to maintain and gain new business.
- Optimize sales resources to most effectively accelerate profitable sales to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals while managing a territory operating budget.
- Utilizes and updates the HubSpot platform daily to manage the assigned territory to keep the top 20 accounts current monthly.
- Works to understand all available service offerings and all market segments served, acronyms and regulatory terminology in order to conduct strong sales discussions with customers.
- Ensures compliance with and/or follows all organizational systems, programs, training, policies, and procedures as required and complies with relevant legal mandates. Seeks guidance as necessary.
- Actively supports and participates in the safety program, both for self-protection and the protection of other employees, by reading and abiding by all requirements in the Safety Manual and Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
- Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Handles various other duties as delegated by the Regional Sales Manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in science or food related discipline, business management or related field, or equivalent education and work experience, required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience of B2B sales required that includes the following:
- Sales experience and/or knowledge of the food & beverage processing market, or
- Sales experience in sales and/or marketing in the food safety market
- Leadership role.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM) WebEx or similar web meeting application.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- be able to use discretion and independent judgement.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to pay close attention to details.
- Must be able to adapt and flex to a changing environment.
- Must be able to lift/carry 20 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Maximum of 40% overnight travel.
- Days consist of either driving and/or flying and driving to see customers in the territory.
- May occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position is considered light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
