The Area Sales Manager will represent the company as key players in the industry and will have dedication to creating and applying an effective client expansion strategy. The goal is to drive sustainable growth while forging strong relationships with clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and take an active role in the following from a direct account management role:
· Develop clear, specific, action-oriented account plans to develop and maintain new accounts.
· Develop customer presentations and participate in customer meetings.
· Consistently achieve targeted sales quota.
· Develop a project pipeline by meeting with prospects and clients to determine upcoming opportunities.
· Define prospects, schedule appointments, and close sales.
· Navigate multiple steps in the sales process with decision makers, demonstrating the ability to influence high-level decision makers.
· Create proposals, and handle negotiation process.
· Maintain an up-to-date understanding of company products, industry trends and technical developments through training at Company HQ.
· Provide direct demonstration of products and assist with installations when requested.
· Effectively position our product service solutions against the competition.
· Accurately assess and analyze customer needs and identify solutions.
· Maintain accurate information and activity tracking in the Company’s CRM, Salesforce.com.
· Maintain and establish long-term, ongoing relationships, and close sales.
· Other duties or special projects as requested.
Travel:
· Extensive regional travel is required, quarterly trips to company HQ.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, equivalent technical degree, or 10+ years of direct firsthand technical Sales.
· Knowledge of Medical device, Automotive, Aerospace and/or Electronic manufacturing preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
· Highly technical background experience with lasers and laser processing.
· Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships within the Company’s own departments and throughout our valued Customer organizations.
· Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
· High degree of business management acumen.
· Effective verbal (phone and face-to-face) and written communication skills.
· Efficient user with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
· Ability to work under pressure and still be effective.
· Initiative-taker with demonstrated desire to go the extra mile.
