Registered Dietitian (Part Time)

St. James is looking for a Part Time Regsitered Dietitian to join our ever growing team.

Registered Dietitian (Part Time) Requirements:

Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics

Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD eligible

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19

Registered Dietitian (Part Time) Responsibilities:

Interviews patient and/or family for nutritional history and preferences. Update diet order and menu changes in computer menu software as needed 

Assesses patients and documents in patients’ medical records.

Recommends therapeutic diet modifications and/or supplemental feedings to physicians for patients.

Ensures accuracy of diet order received by checking against physician’s order.

Calculates nutrient content of tube feeding as ordered by physicians.

Provides nutritional guidance and counseling to patients and their families. Provides written material as needed and according to prescribed diet.

Assess / Monitor the Residents' nutritional status in appropriate time frame, provide recommendations to medical staff and develops adequate care plans

Assess feeding ability and make recommendations for adaptive feeding equipment to occupational therapy as needed.

Evaluate special needs of Residents regarding nutrition support, skin breakdown monthly, and significant weight changes.

Monitor Resident meal service to ensure diet modifications are followed

Routinely evaluate Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to ensure high quality of care

Work closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure appropriate mechanically altered diets are provided for residents with dysphagia

Works closely with the Wound Care Team to promote healing

Knowledge and or experience of MDS 3.0 is a plus

Salary: Up to $31.25 an hour
