Our Client, Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located in Peekskill, NY is seeking for a Registered Dietitian
Type: Contract or Contract-Perm

Provides direct patient/resident care as needed.
Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the unit's medical records
Initiates and ensures effective interdepartmental communication
Responsible for maintaining an appropriate and safe environment

Schedule: In building for five hours everyday (Saturday morning would be great too) - flexible
Job Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current Registered Dietician Certification with the NYS Department of Education.
- 1-2 years' experience working in a nursing home setting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts nutritional assessment, develops and implements patient specific care plans, and assists in recommending nutrition care plans to medical staff for review and consideration.
- Assists in recommending therapeutic diet modifications and/or supplemental feedings to physicians for patients and ensures accuracy of diet order received by checking against physician's order.
- Calculates nutrient content of tube feeding and dietary intakes as ordered by physicians.
- Provides nutritional guidance and counseling to patients and their families.
- Assists with changes to patient's menu, including patient food preferences, and the development of standardized recipes, as well as assists in overseeing food service workers in proper food handing and portion control.
- Prepares, presents, and conducts individual and group education classes, as needed.
- Develops and utilizes effective lines of communication regarding nutrition information within the facility by coordinating with an interdisciplinary team on a daily basis to provide quality care to residents,
- Computer literacy and proficiency with EMR software and computer-based menu systems
Interview Process - Administator with Biljana in person, then from there they will be fwd on over to Arlene White-Tucker (clinical), all on Zoom
One - RD - Spread Time - can be flexible
Able to work 3 full days (Tuesday/Thursdays Mandator)
Expect RD on site is communicating with Clinical Team (any concerns, nurse manager needs to be involved - its importnatn with a part time RD)
Everything needs to be on Site (one RD on site)
