Registered Dietitian (RD)
Cortlandt Manor is searching for a Registered Dietitian to join their team. The general objectives for this position is to engage in the direct nutritional assessment, interview, planning, goal setting and documentation of residents’ nutritional care as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with recommended dietary allowance, practice and state code.
Registered Dietitian (RD) QUALIFICATIONS:
NYS Registered Dietician
Three to five years experience in a long-term care setting.
Knowledge of MDS 3.0 documentation.
Knowledge of Point Click care or EMR systems
Registered Dietitian (RD) SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assess, plans, coordinates and documents resident’s nutritional care. Instructs residents, families, and staff concerning essentials of nutrition for residents on therapeutic diets as prescribed by the physician.
2. Maintains records on resident’s diets and advises physicians, nursing and dietary staff of all information pertinent to their areas of responsibility. Charts progress notes on resident’s medical record.
3. Oversees the accuracy of compliance to the diet order as prescribed by the physician. Calculates tube feedings, diets, and intakes where appropriate and communicates with production personnel concerning specific requirements.
4. Works closely with the department head, food service supervisors, and other disciplines to maintain high standards of quality, efficiency and economy in managing details of the job.
5. Communicates to the department head concerning status of work load, questions, problems and experiences related to the job.
6. Attends and participates in in-service programs, continuing education, department meetings and yearly mandated facility in-service programs.
7. Demonstrates knowledge, respect and sensitivity of resident’s rights as identified within the Resident Bill of Rights and facility policy and mission statement. Assures confidentiality of all resident information.
8. Participates and is committed to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement endeavors within the organization
Shifts: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm
