Civilian Registered Dietitian for Airforce Trainee Program:
Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for Airmen/Trainees referred from the Sports Medicine Hub; establish nutrition-related management protocols, based upon an individual assessment of the patient’s disease/injury/illness.
This program is designed for the Air Force Trainees and is comprised of 15 staff ATCs, 13 Senior ATCs, 2 Nutritionists and 2 Exercise Physiologists!
Position Details:
- Full time, 40 hours, Monday through Friday
- Normal hours of operation: nine (9) hours including a one (1) hour lunch break
- Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), TX area;
- Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), Lackland Medina Annex, and Camp Bullis
Key Responsibilities
Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for Airmen/Trainees referred from the Sports Medicine Hub; establish nutrition-related management protocols, based upon an individual assessment of the patient’s disease/injury/illness.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements:
- Registered Dietitian: Completion of an accredited dietitian program
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, as well as completion of a didactic program in dietetics approved by the CADE or AND or the ADA.
- Basic Life Support
- Require two (2) or more years’ experience, working under your independent RD license, in medical nutrition therapy, health education, or health promotion, demonstrating positive evidence of ability to perform all duties, to include out-patient and/or clinical in-patient within the past two (2) years.
