About the Job
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The RN provides clinical support in an office setting, in collaboration with the physicians of BWH Cardiovascular physicians. He/She supports the clinical mission through patient follow-up calls, triaging incoming calls, communicating lab results, and follows up with physicians as needed. The RN is the first point of clinical contact for the patient and must possess the critical thinking skills and experience to effectively triage patient conditions and provide clinical and medication counseling as needed and instructed by the physician. The RN also facilitates medication refill through pharmacy calls and electronic submission, counsels and educates patients and families and also monitors compliance with physician recommendations. The RN reviews electronic and paper patient records, clinical testing reports, correspondence, and where follow up is needed, communicates information to physician. He or She enters patient information into the electronic medical record and associated databases and assist patients with completion of forms as needed. Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

Experience:

5 years CCU experience required.

2 years’ experience in clinical exercise testing including stress echo, nuclear stress testing and pharmacologic stress testing.

1 year of prior cardiology office RN support staff experience required.

Licensure: Current RN licensure in the State of Rhode Island. BCLS and ACLS certification required
