Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified candidate who will provide comprehensive medical care to inmates at the Orange County Jail along with a current Florida RN license and preferably one year of experience in emergency or critical care nursing to join their team.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care, including treatments, medication administration, and clinical oversight for inmates at the Orange County Jail.
- Conduct physical assessments, perform sick call triage, establish nursing diagnoses, and refer inmates to medical providers as needed.
- Monitor medication administration timeliness, compliance, and effectiveness. Report and respond to variances in treatment regimens.
- Ensure compliance with Corrections Health Services standards, maintain accurate logs and counts, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively.
- Obtain samples and specimens for laboratory examinations.
- Assist physicians in clinic areas and perform routine clinic tasks.
- Participate in in-service training, mandatory continuing education, and assist in the education of staff on the units.
- Supervise line staff, manage clerical operations, and maintain unit compliance for inspections.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Possesses the Ability to:
· Conduct thorough and accurate physical assessments and sick call triage.
· Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness, adhering to established protocols.
· Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies.
· Maintain compliance with health service standards and accurately document all relevant activities.
· Educate and train staff while managing daily operations and ensuring unit compliance.
· Collaborate effectively with medical providers and other team members.
Required Experience and Education:
· Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse.
· Minimum one year of experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a surgical setting or with critical care and emergency nursing is highly desirable.
Knowledge of:
· Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to corrections health services.
· Protocols for medication administration and management.
· Procedures for conducting physical assessments and triage.
· Compliance standards and documentation requirements in a correctional healthcare environment.
· Emergency response techniques and specimen collection processes
Assists with the issuance of permits, inspections, and plan submittal processes. Communicates and interacts effectively assisting customers in person and by telephone with policy and procedure associated with obtaining and completing building permits and/or fire system permits. Reviews applications for completeness and compliance with departmental requirements. Resolves customer’s problems and refers complex problems to supervisor as needed. Sorts and inputs inspection schedules and results. Accepts plans and checks required seals, signatures, soil reports, documented calculations, cost estimates, and/or fire protection system permits. Stamps and routes plans. Implements zoning regulations in the review of all types of development permits such as commercial, residential, and signage. Provides excellent customer service both personally and by telephone. Resolves complex zoning problems that require detailed analysis of site and architectural documents
