Shift Details :
We are looking for a caring and professional Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a School Nurse in Washington. The School Nurse will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students and staff, promoting a healthy school environment, and collaborating with teachers and administrators to ensure the well-being of the school community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students and staff for illness, injury, and chronic health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Assess and evaluate the health needs of students and develop individualized healthcare plans as needed
- Monitor immunization compliance and conduct health screenings
- Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers to support students with special health needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
- Participate in school safety and emergency preparedness plans
- Stay current on best practices in school nursing and healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Current Washington State RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- School Nurse certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school setting
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services.
