Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Invasive Cardiology team. The Invasive Cardiology RN will work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures, including but not limited to cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, TAVR, Watchman and electrophysiology studies.
- Assess patient conditions, perform patient evaluations, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor patients closely during procedures, anticipate potential complications, and intervene promptly to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and conscious sedation as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist with procedural preparations, including patient positioning, equipment setup, and sterile technique adherence.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Educate patients and their families about cardiac procedures, treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, technologists, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate efficient workflow.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and promote evidence-based care delivery.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and patient safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of CT.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of one year Interventional Cath Lab experience or at least 5 years Critical Care ( ICU or CVU) experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
