About the Job
The Adolescent unit at Spring Harbor hospital, specializes in the care of children, generally in the 12 to 17-year-old range, in a 14-bed facility. Our multidisciplinary patient care team specializes in the treatment of diagnoses most commonly found in children and adolescents. These include:
- Depression
- Disruptive Behavior Disorders
- Emerging Psychotic Disorders
- Anxiety Disorders
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Substance Use disorders.
Position Summary
- The Registered Nurse provides patient care utilizing the nursing process in inpatient and outpatient facilities.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
- License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
- Experience: 1+ year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of counseling theory, physical and psychological effects of mental illness and substance abuse preferred
- Knowledge of bio-psychosocial assessments required
