Description: Our client is currently seeking a Registered Nurse with outpatient behavioral experience
HOURS: Ability to work 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM shifts.
Willingness to commit to a 5-day workweek.
Length of Assignment: 3 - 4 month assignment with possible extension.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Document patient care in electronic health records.
- Ensuring client safety throughout the shift by conducting regular client counts, supervising activities, and monitoring client downtime.
- You will also support clients in completing their activities of daily living (ADLs) for themselves and their children.
- Medication Management: Collaborating with the Medical Director to ensure medication orders are up-to-date, supplies are adequate, discharge prescriptions are written, and medications are dispensed correctly. You will also maintain a schedule of medication evaluations and assist the Program Manager in ensuring compliance with medication and medication room policies and protocols.
- Referral and Treatment Coordination: Collaborating with the Service Coordinator to review referrals and ensure biomedical conditions can be safely managed within the 3.5 ASAM level of care.
- You will also assist in engaging individuals in Medication-Assisted Treatment or Withdrawal Management services as appropriate.
- Complete nursing assessments and appropriate documentation for incoming clients, and assist with referrals to identified services.
- Work with clients to ensure they are engaged in OBGYN and Primary Care services, and their children are engaged with Pediatric services.
- Schedule appointments and ensure attendance, and may be required to accompany clients and children as needed.
- Current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- Experience in behavioral health nursing.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Comfort with health records.
