The Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements relating to food safety and quality compliance. This position manages document control, label approval, assists with third party audit work, develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications, and policies collaboratively with FSQA Manager. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing quality control (QC) tasks as necessary.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Develop, update and implement SOPs and policies for all FSQA procedures
- Assist in the development of specifications for all ingredients, raw materials, and finished goods
- Develop, measure, and report on actionable regulatory and compliance KPIs
- Assist with and provide backup for plant inspections with FDA, DOH, USDC
- Assist with samples and submission of water testing for the facility
- Provide and execute recommendations in collaboration with the FSQA Manager for regulatory process improvements
- Create and maintain a regulatory training program in collaboration with HR and Quality
- Assist with the internal audit program for Narragansett facility in collaboration with Quality
- Conduct third party audit preparatory work year-round in collaboration with HR, Facilities & Maintenance, Quality, and Operations
- The Regulatory Coordinator develops, measures, and reports on regulatory and compliance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), process improvements, and training for The Town Dock.
- Oversee nutrition fact testing program and the label approval process
- Participate in annual reviews of documentation, specifications, SOPs, and policies
- Establish and adhere to a schedule for deliverables against set goals and expectations
- Perform QC tasks and custom project assessments as needed
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

- Degree in Food Science or related field work preferred with demonstrated regulatory experience required.
- Self-starter with organized and detailed work habits and excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail with an ability to perform critical review of various types of documents
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Leads with a proactive, preventative, and inclusive mindset
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of QC procedures, GMP, GFSI, HACCP, FDA and USDC regulations, and food industry best practices
- Ability to be Seafood HACCP certified
- Ability to work independently to achieve set goals and expectations, solve problems, and work cross-culturally at all levels of the organization and with external vendors or customers
- Expected to report onsite in Narragansett and to be available for rotating on-call work on weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed, such as New Bedford, MA
- Physical abilities: Climb ladders to inspect equipment, lift 20 lbs., sit at a desk doing computer work for long periods of time, and stand for long periods of time in cool temperatures and wet manufacturing environments
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn Seasoft, Bar Tender, and other software as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required, Spanish a plus

Compensation details: 28-32 Hourly Wage
