Sutton's: Remodeling Project Manager
About Us: Sutton's, a family-owned and operated home improvement firm located in Springfield, IL, seeks a Remodeling Project Manager to join our team. Established in the office we've occupied since the early 1970s on Springfield's North side, several Sutton family members continue to work in the business daily. **Job Purpose:** Preconstruction planning of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our team to gather necessary project data, drawings, specifications, material lists, and schedules.
- Conduct periodic job site visits for project assessment.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, trade partner costs, equipment, and overhead.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for accurate and updated cost estimates.
- Review and approve project budgets, providing regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, staying informed of market prices and trends.
- Recommend cost reduction and efficiency improvement strategies to senior management.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports, including detailed summaries and graphs.
Requirements:
- College degree or verifiable experience in construction.
- Cost estimating experience preferred, with a minimum of five years of construction-related experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and installation methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of independent work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and construction-related software.
- Valid driver's license and own transportation for job site visits.
