About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and successful Reports and Communications Specialist. This is a full-time remote position (potential travel required if requested by FEMA Operations).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, database management and information technology services related to Public Assistance.
- Develop data reports, reporting tools, and data analysis documents.
- Run queries to provide data reports and data analysis documents.
- Assist with SharePoint and other programmatic system development systems and/or tools.
- Develop solutions and programs to support Public Assistance functions including but not limited to file migration / management, SharePoint, Access data solutions, excel data solutions, Tableau/Power BI products.
- Conduct research to locate and obtain information in FAC-Trax and EMMIE Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
- Collaborate with company management and IT teams to develop a data strategy that meets corporate needs and industry requirements.
- Create an inventory of the data necessary to build and implement a data architecture.
- Envision data pipelines and how data will flow through the enterprise.
- Maintain a repository of all data architecture procedures and artifacts.
- Evaluate current data management technologies and what additional tools are needed.
- Determine upgrades and improvements to current data architectures.
- Design, document, build and implement database architectures and applications.
- Build data models for database structures, analytics and AI applications.
- Develop and enforce database development standards.
- Integrate new systems and functions like security, performance, scalability, reliability and data recovery.
- Research new opportunities and create methods to acquire data.
- Develop measures that ensure data accuracy, integrity and accessibility.
- Continually monitor, refine and report data management system performance.
- Train teams to ensure technology standards, patterns, and practices are understood and implemented by all teams and partners.
- Manage data systems to ensure transparency, fidelity, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Manage and maintain field mappings, ensuring vendor and customer data are filled out correctly.
- Liaise with all various partners as required to define and deploy mapping and integration between platforms.
- Work cross-functionally with the Project Management team to track where a product is in the timeline and ensure data is filled out correctly during each step.
- Create and maintain user guides.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment in which requirements and priorities constantly change.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; a graduate level degree or professional registration with 2 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; or 10 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or in field of expertise.
- Must be proficient in generating general and technical reports, briefings, correspondence, and compliance documentation.
- Should have familiarity of the PA Program to act as a representative and to interface with other program personnel.
- Should have thorough knowledge of PA eligibility, law, regulations, and policies.
- Should have the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and rapidly identify and recommend solutions to issues, concerns, or problems that may arise during product development.
- Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing in order to coordinate with others and formulate letters in response to correspondence and inquiries from internal/external stakeholders.
- Should have knowledge of Federal, State, and local government organizational structures and relationships related to emergency management programs.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $40-50/hour. The final salary offered is based n multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
