What you will be doing:
As the Research Analyst 3, your primary responsibility will be to conduct regular statistical analyses of data relating to infant, child, and maternal mortality in Alaska. You will play a crucial role in supporting the ongoing operations of the Maternal Child Death Review Program (MCDR) by overseeing and leading the collection, organization, storage, and utilization of mortality and review data. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of the collected, analyzed, and reported data.

Maternal Child Health (MCH) Epidemiology is a Unit within the Section of Women's, Children's and Family Health, Division of Public Health. Our purpose is to provide reliable data for use in measuring and tracking health status, planning and evaluating programs, guiding public health policy, and preventing poor health outcomes. The MCDR program specifically aims to identify causes and contributing factors to maternal, infant, and child mortality in Alaska, to develop recommendations to prevent future deaths, and to promote, facilitate, and track the implementation of recommendations. The Research Analyst 3 position is vital to this work, as the incumbent will make decisions about how to organize, synthesize, visualize, and present the data to have the greatest impact. |

This position is in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage. The 7.5-hour days can be flexibly scheduled (typically between 7:30 am and 6 pm). The work may require infrequent (once or twice per year) travel to federal grant-related conferences or meetings in or out of state.
