POSITION SUMMARY:
The Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER) at Boston Medical Center is a world-class center for maternal child health advocacy, training and research. Its mission is to bring about health equity by collaborating with community-based partners and providing technical assistance, training, evaluation, and inspiration. CHEER focuses on underserved populations, with an emphasis on maternal child health and nutrition.
Under the supervision of CHEER's Associate Director, the Research Assistant III (RA3) will support the CHAMPS National program. The RA3 will support project execution supported by the grant. Specifically, the RA3 will work closely with project staff to assist with the administrative and coordination aspects of the grant.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Administrative aspects of the project, including: managing activities, tracking progress of deliverables/milestones, managing communications, data collection, feedback on project's progress
- Supports the recruitment of hospitals to participate in the project by using approved criteria and strategies. Manages hospital contracts.
- Conducts the enrollment of project participants, including onboarding, explaining procedures, and obtaining consent to share data.
- Schedules virtual and in-person meetings and events and coordinate logistics with attendees. Develops reports, presentations and data analysis as needed.
SUPERVISION/TRAINING:
- Supervises and directs daily activities of student research assistants
- Coordinates staffing and schedules
- Acts as a liaison and a resource for the department
OTHER DUTIES:
- Monitors the budget
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree is required. Major in a field related to the research highly preferred.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- None required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of directly related, progressively responsible experience and have demonstrated sound independent judgement and competencies in research methodologies.
- Experience with recruiting subjects, with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research.
- Supervisory experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is a plus.
- Must have sound interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise others
- Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
- Ability to prepare and monitor budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access and PowerPoint. Experience with statistical analysis tools a plus. Ability to perform basic data management tasks (coding, data entry, data cleaning, retrieval).
- High degree of computer literacy; experience using quantitative data analysis software helpful (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Minitab).
