Summary:
The XR Hyperreal group in Reality Labs (RL) brings together a world-class R&D team of researchers and engineers to build innovative AR/VR experiences. We work at the intersection of Computer Vision, Graphics, and Machine Learning. The aim of this role is to develop and advance the state-of-the-art technologies in bringing immersive AR/VR experiences. The goal of the internship is to contribute to a research project for new methodologies that can be experienced by billions of people around the globe. Required Skills:
Research Scientist Intern, Computer Vision/Graphics /Machine Learning (PhD) Responsibilities:
1. Research, develop and prototype advanced technologies in the domain of Computer Vision, Graphics, and Machine Learning.
2. Deliver research results that are both publishable and have a direct impact on Meta products.
3. Analyze the efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and stability of currently deployed technologies to identify opportunities for impact through novel research.
4. Collaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project.

5. Currently is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
6. 1+ year of experience in one or more areas of Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Machine Learning.
7. 2+ years of experience with modern C++ and/or Python.
8. 1+ year of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
9. Must obtain full-time work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment for a minimum of 12 weeks.

10. Intent to return to their degree program after the completion of the internship.
11. Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
12. Strong communication skills and ability to convey research ideas to a broad audience.
13. Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithms.
14. Mathematical background and understanding of linear algebra, numerical optimization, probabilistic estimation, understanding of 3D geometry.
15. Proficient in the fields related to 3D vision, sparse/dense reconstruction, dynamic scene reconstruction
Public Compensation:
$7,800/month to $11,293/month + benefits
