The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that we are currently accepting applications for CLEET-certified Reserve Deputy Sheriffs. The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Program is a volunteer unit of the Patrol Division. The Reserve Program is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of our community by providing professional law enforcement services in support of the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office. Reserve Deputies volunteer hundreds of hours each year to the community assisting the Sheriff's Office by:

The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Program is a volunteer unit of the Patrol Division. The Reserve Program is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of our community by providing professional law enforcement services in support of the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office. Reserve Deputies volunteer hundreds of hours each year to the community assisting the Sheriff's Office by:
- Participating in patrol assignments
- Providing security and traffic control for special events
- Emergency call-outs
- Assisting in agency internal training
- Providing assistance to departments throughout the agency
Wagoner County encompasses 568 square miles of city, rural, and lake communities. Sheriff Chris Elliott's leadership and collaboration with partner agencies have so far led to a 50 percent reduction in crime, making Wagoner County one of the safest counties in the state. We seek only the best, most qualified, and committed candidates to help Sheriff Elliott continue his mission to “Keep Wagoner County Safe.”
Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Must possess an active full-time CLEET certification.
- Must be able to perform defense tactics against individuals and frequently interact with hostile/combative people.
- Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Candidates will be expected to participate in and pass a medical examination including drug testing.
- All personnel shall complete a minimum 6 month new-hire probationary period.
All applicants must pass a drug test, background investigation, and a physical agility course. The physical agility course is anticipated to be administered during the last week of November, 2023.
