Responsibilities:Position Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapy Practitioner I provides optimum respiratory care for patients with respiratory disorders and performs therapy as ordered by the physician in accordance with current departmental policies. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages. Acts as relief shift supervisor when required. Maintains department productivity levels by monitoring workloads throughout the shift.
Qualifications:- Completed internship in acute care facility including NICU and infant deliveries.
- Position will be required to supervise and have the ability to work in all critical areas including the NICU.
- Graduate of a two year American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
- The therapist must have passed the written Registry Examination and the clinical simulation exam provided by the NBRC and received their RRT credential
- Current CA License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Current BLS Card from the American Heart Association (within 90 days)
- NRP and Stable certification will be required to work in NICU and will be provided after hire.
- Maintain current license with Respiratory Care Examining Committee.
Preferred:
- Worked in acute care 1-2 years.
- Experience with nitric oxide use in the NICU preferred but will train.
- Experience in intubations (adult pediatric and infant) arterial puncture arterial line draws high frequency ventilation preferred but will train.
- Member of American Association of Respiratory Therapists and California Society of Respiratory Therapists preferred but not required.
- Current PALS and ACLS highly recommended.
