The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring the highest quality product and service while leading the front. This role involves coordinating relations and engagement with beverage and culinary partners. The Restaurant General Manager develops schedules and programs for special events and group business, while also managing and communicating requirements for website, service automation, and remote ordering. They create and manage detailed financial plans to meet or exceed company goals, and regularly review and react to guest satisfaction and employee engagement feedback. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a passion for providing exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of restaurant operations and the ability to drive business growth while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Resposibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant's food and beverage aspects.
- Works with the leadership team to ensure the highest quality product and consistent service.
- Leads from the front and manages operations on the floor for a minimum of 4 shifts per week.
- Coordinates relations and engagement with beverage and culinary partners.
- Engages in strategic, tactical, and operational planning to drive business results.
- Develops schedules and programs for special themed events and group business.
- Manages and communicates requirements for website, service automation, and remote ordering.
- Creates and manages detailed financial plans to meet or exceed the companys goals.
- Reviews and reacts to guest satisfaction and employee engagement feedback.
- Develops and drives planning of new business opportunities, focusing on market trends.
- Creates an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Monitors the competitive landscape and attends industry events.
- Ensures training is completed for all systems, procedures, and policies and creates a repository for these training materials.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years Restaurant General Manager experience in fast phased, high revenue, high capture fine dining restaurants including regional/area F&B oversight and responsibilities.
- Exceptional development and operational knowledge of culinary, beverage, services, entertainment, banquets, event programs and management.
- Bachelors degree in hospitality management or business Admin.
- Strong commitment to delivering a high-level of customer and client service with demonstrated initiative, leadership, and management skills.
- Expertise in building and leading learning strategies, developing learning content and delivering training - considering employees at all levels, with the capability to coordinate effectively.
- Ability to partner with leaders in the organization and diagnose barriers and opportunities, that supports and encourages retention initiatives.
- Result oriented leader with a keen eye for continuous, process, system, procedures improvements.
- Expertise and understanding of all financial aspects of restaurant business, including budgeting, forecasting and P&L performance management.
- Must have knowledge and experience in POS and service automation operations and reporting.
- Proven ability to hire, assess, develop, and grow high performing talent.
- Ability to work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Have or able to obtain Serve Safe certification for Food Service Manager and Responsible Service of Alcohol for Manager.
